Description:DUTIES (include but not limited to the following):
- Administer Ohio-approved reading diagnostic assessments and other literacy assessments as required by state law and Board policy.
- Analyze assessment data to identify student literacy needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and revise Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs) in accordance with Ohio law.
- Provide individual and small-group evidence-based literacy intervention, including high-dosage tutoring when required.
- Deliver structured literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, based upon individual student needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate literacy assessment, intervention, and progress‑monitoring records.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families regarding student literacy needs and progress.
- Travel between assigned school locations as needed to provide services.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (include but not limited to the following):
- Hold a valid Ohio teaching license appropriate for the position as issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Science of Reading, structured literacy, evidence‑based reading instruction, and Ohio literacy requirements.
- Knowledge of Ohio‑approved reading diagnostic assessments, Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs), progress monitoring, and literacy intervention practices.
- Reading Endorsement, Reading Specialist License, or demonstrated experience in literacy assessment and intervention preferred.
- Hold a valid driver’s license for the state of residence and maintain the ability to travel between assigned work locations.
- Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and applicable abuse registry clearances.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
HOURS: 35 hour week, (Normally 8:30am – 3:30pm, M‑F during school year)
This position involves working with children and/or young adults who have developmental disabilities.
