Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually
Summary
The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and medical oversight for Catalina Island Health's Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. The role ensures high-quality, safe, patient-centered care for Catalina Island residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical direction for hospital, emergency, skilled nursing, and clinic services
- Develop, review, and approve clinical policies, protocols, and standards of care
- Supervise and support physicians and advanced practice providers, including chart review and collaboration
- Lead quality improvement, peer review, and patient safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with CMS Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic requirements, Title 22, and accreditation standards
- Partner with the CEO and leadership on strategic planning, recruitment, and the new hospital project
- Maintain an active clinical practice as scheduled
Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted California medical license and DEA registration
- Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; leadership experience preferred
- Rural or critical access healthcare experience strongly preferred
