JOB DESCRIPTION
Working with the Domestic Operations Manager, this Corporate Logistics position has front‑line responsibility to support warehouse KPIs and continuous improvement for North American corporate managed warehouses. The position will be actively involved in day‑to‑day issue resolutions, gap analysis, and continuous improvement projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Key metrics monitored include warehouse costs, on‑time performance, inventory accuracy, and complaints.
Independent analysis of performance and driving improvements of key metrics and SLAs is fundamental. Work efficiently and accurately under pressure, escalates issues appropriately based on risk, and fully understands warehouse processes, SAP transactions, and system troubleshooting. Daily SAP use and frequent Microsoft Excel work (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are required, along with optional use of ETQ, Power BI, and Tableau. Ongoing site visits to third‑party warehouses (3PW) are required.
- Front‑line support to hold 3PW partners accountable to KPIs and contracted SLAs, measure and report monthly, and facilitate root‑cause corrective actions.
- Analyze and report on performance with root‑cause analysis each month.
- Maintain working relationships with 3PW operations teams.
- Timely investigate and support all Business Unit concerns regarding corporate warehouse operations.
- Assist with creation of managed and controlled documents for 3PWs.
- Understand contracts and verify invoicing matches each month.
- Lead and participate in collaborative continuous improvement projects between 3PW partners and Avient.
- Serve as the first line of contact for operational stakeholder questions.
- Respond promptly to internal Avient stakeholder concerns.
- Be reachable during normal shifts; after‑hours/weekend support may be required for end‑of‑month shipping.
- Accurately complete warehouse complaints and claims.
- Become SME on all warehouse requirements.
- Responsible for Elyria OTA accuracy reporting and improvement.
- Facilitate swift resolution of IT system and new‑user issues.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely progress updates to the Domestic Logistics Manager.
- Escalate issues appropriately to all stakeholders.
- Participate in warehouse or corporate audits as required.
- Participate in warehouse expansion projects and sourcing RFP work.
- Support successful warehouse onboarding activities with internal and external stakeholders, including user system set‑up, IT hardware/network requirements, process training, and hypercare.
- Conduct regular on‑site visits to 3PW sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work closely with the Global Logistics Manager to develop monthly reporting on Logistics Services for Avient business units.
- Collaborate with 3rd party logistics providers for transportation and warehousing to report on monthly costs and services.
- Manage Logistics Customer Complaint review and reconciliation across all business units, investigate root cause, develop corrective action plans, and communicate with customers.
- Support LSS initiatives and projects to improve processes and performance.
- Remain stationary for long periods (up to 60% of the workday).
- Traverse to/from required meetings.
- Input data into a computer.
- Work primarily in an office environment with low to moderate noise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience.
- Intermediate SAP experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
