As a Process Technology Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing Lubrizol’s Surface Science portfolio by enabling the successful commercialization and manufacture of natural and bio-based polymer technologies. This role supports both new and existing products, partnering closely with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams, as well as third‑party manufacturers, to deliver safe, reliable, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead and support new product scale‑ups through structured experimentation, pilot trials, and manufacturing authorization activities to enable safe and reliable commercialization.
- Identify, benchmark, and deploy Most Effective Technologies (MET) that strengthen manufacturing capability, asset productivity, and operational excellence.
- Apply data‑driven approaches (e.g., DOE, statistical analysis) to evaluate process performance and drive continuous improvement of existing processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve process safety, capability, productivity, quality, and cost.
- Partner with commercial and technical teams to align process technology strategies with business growth objectives.
- Lead projects and present project status updates, clearly communicate goals, progress, and results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in chemical, specialty materials, or polymer manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated capability in experimental design, data analysis, and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with functionalized natural polymers or bio‑based polymer systems.
- Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
- Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certifications.
- Working in a manufacturing and pilot‑scale environment with appropriate personal protective equipment provided.
- Use of laboratory and production equipment to support experimentation and process development.
- Use of digital tools and computer‑based systems in an on‑site office environment.
- Adherence to rigorous safety, quality, and ergonomic standards.
