The Team Lead’s (Inspection Operator Level
3) primary responsibilities include the those of the Inspection Operator Level 1 and Operator Level 2 as needed. The Team Lead is trained and capable of maintaining day-to-day production operations within a team or zone. The Team Lead is capable of supporting the Shift Supervisor primarily and/or performing duties carried out by the Shift Supervisor as required. The Team Lead reports to the Shift Supervisor and receives training-related guidance as needed.

  • Functional understanding of Supervisor roles and responsibilities in order to act as a backup to Supervisor when needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in Supervisor’s absence in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Knowledge of current production SOPs, forms, procedures, and practices
  • Pull reports, assess data, and take appropriate actions
  • Proficient with IQMS and scan gun navigation
  • Mastery of all Inspection Operator (1), Trainer (2), and related responsibilities
  • Ability to research and solve routine issues and problems, including inventory
  • Strong work ethic / Motivated / Dependable
  • Able to work independently and with minimal oversight / Self-Directed

Education, Training and/or Experience
  • Proficient in job functions of Operators Level 1-2
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One to three years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Training experience Strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing or Plastics experience preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, or customers, of organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
