This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to maintain operational continuity and safety.
Essential Job Functions- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
- Deploy Plan-Do-Check-Act methodologies for troubleshooting issues on the manufacturing floor.
- Conduct maintenance in a proactive manner to determine proper root cause of failures.
- Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
- Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Remove and replace worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
- Locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, measure, cut, thread, and install new pipe.
- Start/Restart all manufacturing equipment to test operation following repair prior to releasing equipment to production.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machines, auxiliary equipment, automation cells, and building facilities.
- Follow all safety regulations and perform safety inspections on all manufacturing equipment and the facility.
- Provide insight and recommendations of potential machine risks for human or equipment safety.
- Document findings during preventive maintenance activity and repair activities on manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in maintenance activities related to tooling and production equipment in preparation for use in applications.
- Train, mentor, and coach other technical team members in functional job activities related to maintenance and repair.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance; be present, on time, ready to work each day.

Education, Training and/or
Experience:
- High School diploma required
- Technical school certificate preferred
- 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training
- Proficient with facilities, injection molding machines (or similar), auxiliary equipment maintenance, electronics and robotics repair
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- General understanding of the injection molding process and the functionality of support equipment including automation cells and other manufacturing equipment
Language
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization in a professional manner with respect to others’ time and priorities.

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
