Watteredge is looking for a skilled and dependable CNC Operator to join our Pressweld Department in Avon Lake, Ohio. This hands‑on manufacturing role is ideal for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working with precision equipment, reading blueprints, and producing high-quality components.
As a CNC Operator in Pressweld, you’ll set up and operate CNC equipment, inspect finished parts, troubleshoot machining issues, and support the production of custom copper components.
What You’ll Do- Set up and operate CNC equipment used within the Pressweld manufacturing process.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job travelers, and work instructions.
- Perform machine setups and make necessary adjustments to tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
- Understand and make basic edits to GCode and MCode, including speeds and feeds.
- Monitor CNC operations and troubleshoot machining, tooling, or equipment issues.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions.
- Work with Pressweld, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years of CNC machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
- Knowledge of CNC tooling, fixtures, offsets, speeds, and feeds.
- Basic understanding of GCode and MCode.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Good math skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, safety focused, and able to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
