Production Team Lead

Position Overview

The Team Lead’s primary responsibilities include the those of the Inspection Operator Level 1 through Level 3 as needed. The Team Lead is trained and capable of maintaining day-to-day production operations within the Inspection Operator team. The Team Lead is capable of supporting the Shift Supervisor primarily and/or performing duties carried out by the Shift Supervisor as required. The Team Lead reports to the Shift Supervisor and receives training-related guidance as needed.

• Evaluate, update, and share accuracy of OWIs and SOPs
• Assist with update of job board layout
• Investigate and remedy inventory issues & discrepancies
• Assess IQMS schedule, assign priorities, manipulate downtimes & data accordingly
• Functional understanding of Supervisor roles and responsibilities in order to act as a backup to Supervisor when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in Supervisor’s absence in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Ability to train others, including use of multiple approaches and ability to assess effectiveness of training
• Proactive communication with Supervisor and Operations Manager regarding daily production efficiency/status
• Proactive communication with management and partner departments, as appropriate
• Knowledge of current production SOPs, forms, procedures, and practices
• Pull reports, assess data, and take appropriate actions
  
  Proficient with IQMS and scan gun navigation
• Mastery of all Inspection Operator (1), Trainer (2), and related responsibilities
• Ability to research and solve routine issues and problems, including inventory

• Proficient in job functions of Operators Level 1-2
• High School Diploma or GED required
• One to three years related experience and/or training preferred
• Training experience Strongly preferred
• Manufacturing or Plastics experience preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, or customers, of organization.
