The School Board of Highlands County is seeking a teacher. The position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of Education and certification by the State of Florida in the appropriate subject area. The candidate must also pass a criminal history records check and drug screening. The primary responsibilities include developing long- and short-term plans based on student needs, planning and preparing lessons and instructional strategies, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, and ensuring student growth and achievement.

The teacher will also be responsible for managing time and materials effectively, instructing and supervising volunteers and aides, and engaging in continuing improvement of professional knowledge and skills.
