The School Board of Highlands County is seeking a teacher. The position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of Education and certification by the State of Florida in the appropriate subject area. The candidate must also pass a criminal history records check and drug screening. The primary responsibilities include developing long- and short-term plans based on student needs, planning and preparing lessons and instructional strategies, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, and ensuring continuous student growth and achievement.

The position also involves collaborating with students, parents, and school staff, engaging in professional development, and supporting school improvement initiatives. Performance will be appraised annually and pay will be according to the School Board of Highlands County Instructional Salary Schedule.
