Job Description:A part-time, temporary position, to assist disabled student(s) with mobility, note-taking, reading, and/or reviewing course materials on an as-needed basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists student(s) in an appropriate fashion to access facilities and materials needed for course work.
- Schedules and maintains documentation of times and dates for assisting assigned student(s).
- Discusses status and needs of assigned student(s) with Disabilities Specialist on a regular basis.
- Assists Disabilities Specialist in providing other similar services, actions, products and devices described in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended, and in the Americans with Disabilities Act to assist disabled students in meeting academic, vocational education, or licensure requirements essential to the student's program of instruction.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational:Associate degree from an institutionally accredited organization or vocational certificate preferred.
Experiential:Must possess ability and willingness to work with functionally disabled individuals.
