As a Biologist, you will serve as a Florida Air Force Partnership Biologist at either Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida; or Avon Park Air Force Range, Avon Park, Florida.
This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition at management's discretion.
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/22/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. All candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements.
To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.

In addition to the specialized experience requirements for this position, you must meet at least one of the following:
- Degree: Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines clearly appropriate to the position. You must submit transcripts. -OR-
- Combination of education and experience: course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Minimum Requirement: To qualify for this position, you must also possess one of the following:
- Specialized Experience Requirement: you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: assisting in planning, analyzing, and reporting on fish and wildlife resources of an area; providing support in development of wildlife management plans to ensure conservation, protection, and enhancement of wildlife;
and preparing and delivering presentations. All of this experience must be clearly demonstrated in your resume. -OR- - Education: Successful completion of at least one year (18 semester hours) of graduate education in biology or a closely related field which clearly provided me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully complete the work of the position. - Combination of education and experience
. To combine education and experience, first calculate the percentage of one year of graduate level education. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. -OR- - Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): Successfully completed a bachelor's degree in a directly related field AND meet one of the following: (1) Class Standing: rank in the upper 3rd of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, based on the completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average (GPA): earn a GPA of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) based on 4 years of education, or based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum
