Production Manager | Vilar & Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater
Join Vail Valley Foundation as Production Manager for Vilar & Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. This full‑time, year‑round position is based in Beaver Creek, Colorado and offers a salary range of $60,000‑$70,000 annually.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily theater production operations, supporting front‑of‑house event operations.
- Serve as manager on duty for Vilar events as scheduled and act as crew chief for all load‑ins/outs, supervising on‑stage work.
- Advance all incoming events for labor, technical needs, and parking; coordinate with venue partners.
- Schedule crew/labor for all Vilar events and activations; coordinate show needs with Hospitality, Artist Services, Facility Management, and House Management.
- Schedule independent contractors such as backline rental, piano tuning, and specialized production equipment service.
- Supervise safe fly system operation.
- Lead production and back‑of‑house staff/crew in training and execution related to the Emergency Operations Plan.
- Manage production department accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, COI requests, and general administration.
- Manage vendor relationships and agreements; oversee payroll needs and settlement reports.
- Manage production budget lines, expense reconciliation, and capital improvement projects.
- Hire and train new production staff; address HR matters; ensure crew safety and certification.
- Provide venue and operations support for the Summer Concert Series and other special events.
- Minimum 3‑5 years experience in theater, concert production, venue operations, project management, or hospitality.
- Experience with performing arts venues highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, initiative, and interpersonal skills; proven track record building and motivating teams.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast‑paced, changing environments and during security or emergency situations.
- Excellent management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling/event management software (Lasso, Prism), and HR/Accounting systems (Pay Com, Paper Save).
- Basic accounting skills and prior budget‑management experience.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass a Motor Vehicle background check.
- Flexible schedule required; willing to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays during peak season.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience operating audio or lighting consoles.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
