Position Title: Middle School(7-8)
Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE - Long Term Substitute through the End of School Year
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for Special Education(165 or 065).
- Degree from an accredited college or university in Spanish.
Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Work Year: Position starts on or about March 10, 2026, and ends on June 16, 2026. In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Responsibilities: The Special Education Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Provides comprehensive case management, planning and providing instruction directly to students requiring social, emotional and behavioral support.
- Provides training, support, and guidance to a team of para educators; co-teaches; communicates and collaborates with teachers and families.
- Implements IEP and leads PPT processes
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
