Position Title: Middle School (7-8) Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE – Long Term Substitute through the End of School Year

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for Special Education (165 or 065).

Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Work Year: Position starts on or about March 10, 2026, and ends on June 16, 2026. In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

• Provides comprehensive case management, planning and instruction directly to students requiring social, emotional and behavioral support.
• Provides training, support, and guidance to a team of para educators; co-teaches; communicates and collaborates with teachers and families.
• Implements IEP and leads PPT processes.
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
