Position Title:Special Education Long-Term Substitute
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers comprehensive Special Education for grades PK-12.
- Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Special Education.
Reports to:Building Principal and/or designee
Evaluator:Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Period of Assignment: Starting on or about
November 13, 2026 through November 24, 2026.
Responsibilities:The Special Education Long-Term Substitute has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Monitor student progress in accordance with IEP.
- Complete progress reports at the conclusion of ESY.
- Plan and implement specially designed instruction for students in accordance with their IEPs.
- Collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals
- Provide direct instruction/support for students requiring special education.
- Supervise one/multiple para educator
