Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x‑rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform x‑ray services as needed under the direction of the clinical provider.
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during use.
- Prepare patients for examination, including verifying patient information, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit, performing preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and escalating critical cases.
- Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to provider.
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
- Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up on care.
- Perform daily control and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and perform preventive maintenance, submit repair tickets.
- Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine procedures.
- Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and safety, answer questions.
- Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
- Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting settings to capture clear diagnostic images.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of X‑ray equipment and manage supplies.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA.
- Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures.
- Verify image quality and ensure images sent to radiologists for interpretation.
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.
- Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
- Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X‑ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
- Positioning patients properly for the X‑ray procedure required.
- Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
- Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
