Oldcastle, a CRH company, is seeking a Quality Control Technician for its Avon Precast Facility.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will report to the facility Quality Control Manager and will perform daily QC functions, including routine tests on raw materials, in-process components, and final products in an industrial indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-pour inspection checks in wet cast operations
- Perform post-pour inspection checks in wet cast operations
- Participate in Corrective Action Reports for nonconforming product
- Monitor production operations and report deficiencies as required
- Perform material gradation testing as necessary
- Conduct daily wet tests for concrete production pours
- Conduct daily compressive strength testing of hardened concrete specimens
- Maintain record-keeping of quality documents, reports, and inspections
- Maintain calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as required
- Report to management on process improvements, repetitive mistakes, and quality concerns
- Assist other Quality Control personnel as requested
- Ensure that all precast products are correctly marked
- Previous quality control experience in the construction industry; concrete experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and understanding of basic math and geometry
- Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members
- Hold Quality Control Certifications, e.g., ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically throughout the day
