Primary Job Functions

The primary function of the Preschool Coordinator is to be responsible for the leadership and overall operation of the White Oak Early Learning Center.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Must hold appropriate Indiana Administrative Certification
  • Experience:

    Five (5) Years of teaching experience in special education or early learning
  • Other:
    Ability to maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and the community.
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within an early childhood instructional program
  • Capable of administering preschool programs within a large suburban school district
  • Knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices and effective instructional strategies for preschool learners
  • Capable of budgeting time effectively and willing to work beyond school hours as needed to complete assigned duties
  • Ability to reach logical conclusions and make high quality decisions based on available information
  • Reflect on and learn from experiences and receive feedback from others to grow personally and professionally
  • Facilitates Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and provides professional learning opportunities focused on early childhood best practices and inclusive instruction
  • Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students and staff
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to early childhood and preschool special education, including IDEA and Child Find requirements
  • Collaborate with district administrators, special education staff, and related service providers to support evaluation, eligibility, and service delivery for preschool students
  • Monitor implementation of IEPs to ensure services are delivered as written and in the least restrictive environment
  • Implement and oversee systems for CCDF and On My Way PreK, including student eligibility, enrollment, documentation, and reporting to ensure compliance and funding related to enrollment, eligibility, attendance, and funding requirements for CCDF and On My Way PreK students
  • Collaborate with district administration and preschool staff to ensure program requirements are consistently met
  • Monitor program practices to ensure alignment with state guidelines and prepare for audits, reviews, or program monitoring as required
  • Hire, direct, supervise, and evaluate all assigned personnel in accordance with district policies and procedures
  • Assist district administration in the development of budget priorities and allocation of resources for preschool programming
  • Provide recommendations for curriculum, instructional materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for program operation
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize data systems to monitor enrollment, student progress, and program effectiveness
  • Develop policies and procedures for student safety and security. Administer student discipline system and attendance procedures fairly and equitably
  • Communicate effectively with families and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with community agencies and early intervention providers to support student and family needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent

The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
