Paraprofessional - Indy West Early Learning Center
Avon, IN, USA
Part Time
This position offers paid time off, a tuition grant for employees' children, and no-cost before- and after-school care for enrolled children during school-related work hours.
Indy West Christian School is seeking a mature Christian to join our Early Learning Center team as a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional for the school year. This individual will support student supervision and provide classroom assistance under the direction of teachers and school leadership. This role plays a vital part in fostering a positive, Christ-centered learning environment.
Professional
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Prior relevant experience (preferred)
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Spiritual and Personal
Qualifications:
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Affirm and actively support the school's Statement of Faith.
- Serve as a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to biblical standards and the school's Lifestyle Statement.
- Exhibit integrity, spiritual maturity, and a clear Christian testimony.
- Be an active member of an evangelical church.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and positively interact with students throughout the day
- Support a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Assist students with teacher-assigned learning tasks
- Monitor classrooms during small group or individual instruction
- Provide support during lunch, recess, and other duties
- Assist with before/aftercare programs (AM or PM shift)
- Communicate regularly with supervising teachers
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families
- Participate in training and professional development
- Assume substitute teaching duties if needed (with proper certification)
- Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times
- Follow biblical principles, including the Matthew 18 model for conflict resolution
