Teacher Position

The primary function of the teacher is to plan, guide, and evaluate the learning process of the students for whom they are responsible. Salary range is $54,000-$98,400. FLSA status is exempt with an assigned workday calendar of 185 days. Job status is full-time. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Provided long-term disability, TRF, 401(a) Retirement.

Paid time off benefits include 9 sick days/4 personal days. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, appropriate Indiana certification, and the ability to maintain a positive relationship with pupils, staff, parents, and the community. Essential functions include monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, effective communication with a wide range of students, staff, and administration, proficiency in reading and writing, strong human relations skills, multi-tasking ability, strong organizational skills, utilization of 21st century technological skills, effective lesson preparations aligned to state content standards, designing formative assessments, maintaining accurate records, developing student understanding and mastery of lesson objectives, demonstrating content knowledge, providing multiple ways of engaging students with content aligned to the lesson objectives, using a variety of methods to check for understanding, developing a higher level of understanding through rigorous instruction and student engagement, maximizing instructional time, creating a classroom culture of respect, collaboration, and student safety, establishing a classroom environment that promotes high expectations for the academic success of all students, contributing ideas and expertise to further the school's mission and initiatives, dedicating time efficiently when needed for helping students and peers outside of class, seeking out and participating in regular opportunities to collaborate with and to learn from peers, welcoming constructive feedback while seeking ways to implement new practices, instructional techniques, and teacher knowledge, displaying commitment to the education of all students while attempting to remedy obstacles around student achievement, engaging in all forms of parent outreach required by the school in order to promote student learning, participation, and achievement, being an example of exemplary adult behavior for students, projecting a genuine care and concern for all students, and any other duties assigned by principal/designee.

Physical demands include sitting, standing, using hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, talking or hearing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
