Sample handling Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Receiving, labeling, and analyzing samples utilizing multiple lab instruments
• Maintaining equipment and assisting in ordering laboratory supplies
• Special projects will be performed as needed
• Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex and non-routine issues to higher levels.
• Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish tasks
• Performs processing of routine lab samples in accordance with appropriate GLP and safety guidelines
• Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement within the lab
• Ensuring quality is upheld in production by verifying integrity of product
• Recording all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility

• Scientific background/Degree is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Microsoft Excel or Basic computer literacy (data entry, navigating digital instructions)
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Previous experience in Specimen Processing or related field is preferred
