Registered Nurse - Vascular Access

Overview

Full Time - Day: 5a-5p, 3 days/week rotating days. Limited weekends and holidays required.

This position is referral eligible.

Full time roles are eligible for a sign on bonus of $30,000.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Vascular Access Clinical Nurse to join our Vascular Access team at IU Health Fishers. In this vital role, you'll support the hospital through vascular access responsibilities.

• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Placement of ultrasound guided IVs, PICCs.
• Helping with difficult access or blood draws.
• Monitor and maintain vascular access inventory and supplies.
• Document procedures accurately and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Collaborate with the charge and bedside nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families.

• Previous Vascular Access nursing experience.

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions:
  Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute‑care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
