American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Med/Surg night shift travel assignment, with a minimum of 18 months of experience and an IN or Compact RN license required.
Details- Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Skills utilized include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral and PICC line management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
- Floating is required — travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Cerner is the charting system used
- Active IN or Compact RN license required; must be in hand prior to start date
- Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); both AHA and RQI formats accepted and must be current
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited university required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents need a 90-day break, and in-state residents need a 180-day break, each prior to reaching their traveler year mark
