DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 18 months of experience and Cerner charting proficiency.
Details- Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Cerner charting system used
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, feeding tube care, heparin administration, and respiratory care including HFNC and nasal cannula
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including medication administration and line management
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this unit
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional requests require facility approval
- Schedule requests and accommodations should be submitted at time of offer, as later requests are not guaranteed approval
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
