American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 18 months of experience and Cerner charting proficiency.

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Cerner charting system used

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience required
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, feeding tube care, heparin administration, and respiratory care including HFNC and nasal cannula
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including medication administration and line management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted for this unit
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional requests require facility approval
• Schedule requests and accommodations should be submitted at time of offer, as later requests are not guaranteed approval
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
