Schedules:
Full Time (2 positions) or Part Time (1 position)
Rotating Shifts (Primarily Nights) (6pm - 6am OR 6am or 6pm)

Department Supported:
Public Safety
Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Proactively works to prevent crime and safety incidents.
Responds to and investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License.
- Successful completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II training within one year after appointment as a police officer.
- Ability to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access.
- No convictions for felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor offenses.
- Pass a pre-employment background investigation, drug screening and psychological exam.
- Working knowledge of computers and various software programs.
- Never had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked.
- No current suspension or voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license in effect.
