Accounting Manager / Sr. Accountant

Pay: 90k - 110k DOE

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls. The role combines hands-on general accounting duties with supervisory responsibilities to support month-end close, cash flow management, and budgeting. Automotive or OEM experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidation of financial data.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Maintain and analyze cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and support treasury activities to optimize working capital.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP; present results to senior management.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Coordinate and support external and internal audits; respond to auditor inquiries and provide required documentation.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and rolling forecasts to support business planning.
• Own ERP-related accounting activities, including transaction posting, month-end reconciliations, and process improvement; partner with IT/ERP teams on system implementations or upgrades.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff; assign tasks, review work, and drive process improvements and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, sales) to resolve accounting issues, ensure accurate cost accounting, and support business initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes.
• Proven experience with AR, AP, account reconciliations, cash flow management, and journal entries.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle) and experience with system implementations or upgrades preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and support audits.
• Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring team members.
• Automotive or OEM industry experience is a plus but not required.
