Director, FP&A

Position Summary

Serve as a key member of the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems financial planning and analysis team providing analysis to drive financial performance and achieve business objectives.

• Drive and monitor financial performance, analyze operating results, investigate variances and unusual items, and evaluate their effect on operations.
• Lead monthly forecast, annual budgeting, and five‑year strategic planning processes.
• Assist decision‑making for budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between central finance, business units, and plants on budget and forecasting processes.
• Proactively identify and coach teams on potential issues before escalation, ensuring timely resolution.
• Spearhead process optimization initiatives to elevate efficiency and streamline FP&A operations.
• Develop and implement standardized tools, templates, and calendars for comprehensive meeting reviews.
• Deliver precise and timely financial insights and services to the business, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
• Prepare monthly presentation packages for management reviews.
• Report results to Operations and Functional leadership with recommendations for action.

• Extensive understanding of financial concepts including financial statement analysis, accounting, budgeting, profitability analysis, and standard costing methodologies.
• Solid understanding of business drivers such as industry volume patterns, specific customer products, and customer/market mix.

• Comprehensive financial analysis skills for evaluating business transactions and models.
• Advanced Excel modeling and programming skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills across multiple locations and management levels.
• Ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks to meet stringent deadlines.
• Motivated self‑starter with urgency and results orientation.
• Strong project management skills and ability to mentor teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Influence internal customers and manage cross‑functional relationships.

• Minimum 10 years of direct and progressive financial analysis experience in manufacturing, with prior FP&A roles required.
• Minimum 5 years of proven managerial experience leading a team and driving strategy to achieve results.
• Proven ability to lead teams and develop talent.
• Prior plant financial leadership experience required.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience required; SAP preferred.
• Experience in project management and financial management, including budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and FX analysis preferred.
• Prior experience in a multinational manufacturing company preferred.

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA preferred.
• Green Belt certification preferred.
