* POSITION SUMMARY:

** Provide leadership, and direct and manage tool and die associates to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
** JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities.

Direct report for the supervisors in the Tool Room.

Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching, counseling and corrective action when situations dictate. Escalate and report to manager as required.

Provide key input into the development of the Plant’s strategic business plan and identify and track key measurable to support plant business plan goals.

Develop and drive the development of departmental strategy goals and identify and track key measurable to support the department goals.

Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant business plan goals.

Responsible for tool and die department safety, quality, production and delivery objectives.

Track, monitor and implement required improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.

Assist, as required, plant activities to achieve cost reductions goals.

Utilize teamwork to develop plant synergy.

Develop and manage die preventive maintenance schedules, manage spare part levels.

Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline.

Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.

Responsible for driving the work team to assure timely and efficient repair of dies in order to achieve maximum throughput.

Drive department manning levels and utilization to assure compliance to budget.

Provide leadership and promote positive moral and ensure a total team concept.

Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mind set for the team.

Assure work orders are prioritized appropriately.

Direct, drive and participate in problem solving methods for related plant and customer issues.

Lead activities for any outside die work with vendors.

Drive and support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and quality registrations (ex. TS 16949, ISO 14001, etc.)Assure all direct reports are aware of their Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.

Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.

Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protection equipment (PPE) by the work team.

Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.

Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.

Maintain high level of housekeeping in the work area.

Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides direct leadership to Tool and Die Supervisors and hourly associates.

Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
** REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
** Bachelor’s Degreein Applied Science in Manufacturing, Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred. Master degree preferred.

Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor and/or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker preferred.

Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
