Financial Sales
A sales position responsible for obtaining, expanding, and retaining bank customers, with a specific focus on the Preferred Program and mass affluent prospects. The role involves proactive outreach, needs‑based assessments, and referral partnership development to deliver a consultative banking experience.
General FunctionResponsible for the acquisition, growth, and retention of bank customers. Engage partners to fulfill client financial needs while promoting the Retail Consultative Sales process in collaboration with the financial center team. Ensure risk is managed by following policies and procedures, maintaining a positive customer experience, and consistently identifying, assessing, reporting, and mitigating risks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Execute retail strategies and tactics to increase Preferred Program households and deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Build deep relationships with customers to serve as a trusted advisor using consultative sales and service processes.
- Simplify and communicate complex financial concepts to customers.
- Participate actively in financial center huddles and meetings to support sales and motivational activities, guiding the team in the referral and sales process with a focus on Preferred customers.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products and services, staying current and requesting further development assistance when needed.
- Consistently meet or exceed investment sales and referral goals in partnership with the Investment Executive.
- Initiate and maintain customer and prospect contact through various methods, including in‑center interactions, telemarketing, seminars, and community events.
- Stay informed about industry and economic trends to anticipate customer needs and proactively offer new solutions.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a sales environment within the financial industry.
- Completion of consultative selling skills certification and ongoing educational requirements.
- Series SIE, 6, 63 and insurance licenses required; external hires must obtain Series 65 within 90 days of hire with a maximum of two attempts.
- Proven ability to build and maintain a revenue‑producing book of business in the mass affluent segment.
- Professional public image and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally overnight.
- SAFE Act registration at time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Normal office environment.
- Frequent computer screen use.
- Occasional local and overnight travel as required.
The base salary for this position reflects the salary ranges for all roles in this pay grade across the U.S., varying by role, skill set, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan based on company, line of business, and/or individual performance.
