About the roleThe Laboratory Technician is integral to the proper evaluation and compliance of the facility's waste analysis plan. This person will be responsible for performing onsite laboratory and testing procedures, determining acceptable waste streams and working closely with operations to ensure proper processing. The position is essential to the facility operations team and is accountable for high quality standards and safe working conditions.
PositionResponsibilities
- Calibrate all laboratory equipment each morning.
- Analyze and record all incoming samples and record results, hard copy and in computer system.
- Analyze and complete bench study (treatability) on each incoming load, to include new samples.
- Analyze materials received and compare to the profile.
- Maintain all lab equipment: GC/MS, ICP, FOG, Bomb Calorimetry, Mercury and Flash testing.
- Analyzing samples for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Semi-volatile Compounds (SVOCs) and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) using GC/MS methods dictated by the EPA (ASTM).
- Evaluate new samples to determine treatability; keep the laboratory clean and orderly.
- Assist with laboratory projects that result in improved cost, quality, efficiency, or other general process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related discipline.
- Experience working with non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- MS Suite experience required.
- Experience with hand tools preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions.

Pay TransparencyReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $52,200 – $69,400 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
