Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. The role supports and oversees repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, power tools, and digital equipment.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines as outlined in Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 10 years of experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by federal regulations.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2‑year associate’s degree in A/C and refrigeration.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations as defined by federal regulations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00–$70.00, depending on skill set, experience, and other factors. Bonus incentives may be available based on performance.
