Job Summary /
Purpose:
The Maintenance A position is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports daily production through timely troubleshooting, routine inspections, and collaboration with production and safety teams.
- Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and industrial control circuitry
- Deep knowledge of PLC architecture, networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP), and ladder logic.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
- Direct experience programming or troubleshooting Omron and Mitsubishi PLCs.
- Proficiency with Schneider Electric SoMove software for drive commissioning.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial servo systems, VFDs, and HMI hardware.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts
- Maintains inventories of parts and supplies by checking stock and placing requisitions
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance procedures
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Assists all departments with machinery breakdowns (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, schematics, and P& order to troubleshoot and diagnose system breakdowns; then make appropriate repairs or recommendations
- Install, test and maintain all drive panels, drives, enclosures, motors, PLC, control devices and other electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance (PM) according to schedules and work orders
- Conduct machine changeovers, alignments, and calibrations to support production requirements
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime
- Maintain building systems (lighting, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, water, and drainage)
- Inspect and repair doors, docks, conveyors, racking, and other facility infrastructure
- Support contractors for specialized repairs and ensure work meets company standards
- Follow and enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and OSHA requirements
- Conduct safety inspections; promptly address hazards and document corrective actions
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance areas (5S)
- Track and manage spare parts, tools, and consumables; initiate reorders to maintain minimum stock levels.
- Work with purchasing to source parts and verify deliveries.
- Collaborate with production, quality, safety, and engineering to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption
- Provide timely status updates to supervisors
- Perform all other duties as directed by management
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years of experience in the following
- AC & DC motors drives and controls
- Flat, vertical and overhead welding
- Multi-process welding/fabrication
- Drives and PLC instrumentation
- Machine set-up and installation
- Electrical competency 480V3PH
- Knowledge of 120/240/480v single and three phase systems
- Working knowledge of state and local safety codes
Qualification:
- Arc-Flash Safety certification
- Precision Motor Alignment certification for Power Transmission
- Hydraulic, Mechanical, & Electrical Schematics certification
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Time management; ability to prioritize multiple work orders
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
- General computer skills (Proficiency with Microsoft Office)
- Ability to use email and digital documentation tools
