Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Program Coordinator. This position provides lead direction to staff in the tutoring center, backup support for tutoring for math courses across the curriculum, skills development for students and staff, and operational support in the Academic Success Center.

Essential Functions
  • 70% - Provides lead direction for mathematics tutors in a face-to-face and online environment; trains tutors in mathematics content; utilizes appropriate software and technology (MS Office, Canvas, Tutor Trac, Matlab, Maple, etc.); develops and delivers resource materials, instructional aids, and workshops for all levels of mathematical knowledge.
  • 15% - Directs work of student learning facilitators; mentors and coaches on tutoring best practices; collaborates with faculty to reinforce classroom instruction across the curriculum.
  • 15% - Contributes to tutoring initiatives and learning support activities; maintains department records and presentations; maintains relationships with academic divisions and service departments; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, or a directly related field, and one year of full-time equivalent experience in researching information, gathering data, performing preliminary analysis, and preparing reports.

OR

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, or a directly related field, and two years of full-time equivalent experience in researching information, gathering data, performing preliminary analysis, and preparing reports.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and related work experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field.
  • Two years of experience tutoring all levels of mathematics for a diverse student population.
