As a General Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to influence student achievement through direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & Writing) and EnVision Math.
Responsibilities- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to support social, physical, and intellectual growth for primary school success.
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
- Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
- Ensure student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and program classification.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, including meeting deadlines and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom and throughout their lives.
- Be active on campus with light lifting, standing, moving, and traveling to other campuses as required; participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment in AZ only.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.
