AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Move and implement large‑enterprise equipment
- Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment
- Ensure proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
- Follow well‑established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities
- Use material‑handling tools and equipment safely
- Travel within and outside the regional work area as required
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with the ability to respond to primary rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
- Ability to travel to or commute between data‑center locations as needed
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility
- 1+ years of computer‑networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating‑system experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with computer networking and Linux operating systems
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer‑hardware troubleshooting and repair
- 2+ years of data‑center, critical‑environment, computer‑hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data‑center operations experience
- 18+ months of experience with fiber handling and fiber installation processes
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data‑center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering)
- Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and/or weekends
