Network Install Technician, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

• Move and implement large‑enterprise equipment
• Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment
• Ensure proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
• Follow well‑established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities
• Use material‑handling tools and equipment safely
• Travel within and outside the regional work area as required

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with the ability to respond to primary rotation and after‑hours support as needed
• Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
• Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

• Ability to travel to or commute between data‑center locations as needed
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility

• 1+ years of computer‑networking experience
• 1+ years of Linux operating‑system experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with computer networking and Linux operating systems
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer‑hardware troubleshooting and repair
• 2+ years of data‑center, critical‑environment, computer‑hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data‑center operations experience
• 18+ months of experience with fiber handling and fiber installation processes

• Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience working in a data‑center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering)
• Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and/or weekends
