We are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our expanding Data Center Operations team. Our ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, innovative, and professional. They have a passion for delighting customers, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The role encompasses oversight of contract employee deliverables, collaboration with Data Center Managers to devise security strategies, achieve financial targets, and improve overall operational security within our data centers.
They will report to the Area Security Manager responsible for their Data Center Campus.
- Coordinate the activities of a professional contract guard force and oversee vendor deliverables at your assigned site or campus.
- Track service delivery against established SLAs and report corrective actions to senior team members as needed.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies.
- Interface with vendors to coordinate system repairs, preventative maintenance, and new security construction.
- Foster relationships with data center stakeholders to educate on security procedures and reduce false alarms.
- Review and approve operational work activities that potentially affect physical security.
- Provide guidance and support to vendors in the absence of SOPs or in situations that require escalation.
- Extract metrics and analyze data to observe trends and drive improvements in security operations.
- Collaborate with data center operations, colocation providers, and partner teams to accomplish operational consistency.
- Support the development and implementation of security processes and procedures.
- Travel between local sites as needed, up to 50% of the workweek.
- Experience with various Access/Intrusion control systems in a Control room environment.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvements.
