OverviewAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Move and implement large enterprise equipment
- Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment
- Ensure proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
- Follow established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities
- Safely use material handling tools and equipment
- Travel within and outside of regional work area as required
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of experience in any of the following or similar technical or vocational roles: computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, technical project management
- Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment
- Knowledge of major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
