Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Custodian to support the Facilities Department. This position provides a full range of custodial duties under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Manager.

Time management and basic computer knowledge are also a must.

Essential Functions

• 40% - Sweeps, mops, strips, and waxes floors; vacuums and cleans carpets; cleans whiteboards, dusts, and polishes furniture. In-depth knowledge of property chemical handling, floor-care, general cleaning techniques, and knowledge of use of cleaning equipment.
• 25% - Maintains restrooms, break rooms, cleans cobwebs inside and outside.
• 15% - Performs minor maintenance tasks and reports repairs that are needed.
• 10% - Inspects and conducts routine maintenance of small equipment used by custodial staff.
• 10% - Empties and cleans trash cans and recycles receptacles. Uses electric vehicles to haul trash and equipment when necessary. Other duties as assigned, commensurate to the grade level of the position.

All duties listed are expected to be engaged autonomously unless otherwise directed.
