Registered Nurse; RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Tenet

Tenet‑AZ Region is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PCU – Progressive Care Unit in Avondale, Arizona.

Provides professional nursing care within the unit, coordinates care planning with other disciplines, renders individualized bedside care based on the nursing process and patient needs, supervises staff, evaluates the quality and effectiveness of care, participates in hourly rounding, observes safety guidelines, and may be asked to lead a shift.

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, cultural, safety/risk, and discharge‑planning needs on admission and ongoing.
• Determine nursing diagnoses based on assessment and data analysis.
• Set practical, realistic, and appropriate patient‑specific outcome goals.
• Individualize the patient’s plan of care based on needs and procedural complexities.
• Implement nursing and medical orders and ensure they are appropriate to the patient’s status.
• Complete other tasks assigned at the hospital.

• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment during periods of high pressure.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.

Level II EQ Only: Minimum of two years of current Level III NICU experience, including neonatal ventilator use;
Advanced Fetal Monitoring or obtaining within six months of hire.

License/

Certifications:

Registered Nurse license in Arizona; CPR, ACLS, and any facility‑specific certifications (ER, ICU, Endoscopy, Tele, Cardiac Cath Lab, L&D). Required or required to obtain within specified time frames.

• BSN.
• At least one year of acute‑care experience, though new graduates may be considered.
• Certification in a specialty area of practice preferred.
• For PACU, ACLS required or must obtain within six months; PALS preferred.

Duration:
Ongoing. 36 hours per week in 12‑hour shifts.
