THE HEALTHCARE INITIATIVE

Where Talent Meets Opportunity

Director of Perioperative Services
Southwest | Permanent

We are partnering with a hospital in the Southwest to identify a Director of Perioperative Services. This organization offers one of the most advanced surgical platforms in the region, paired with the reach and resources of a full-service acute care hospital.

The Opportunity

Reporting to hospital leadership, this Director will oversee a large and technologically advanced perioperative service line:

  • 16 operating rooms, with capacity to expand to 20
  • A large GI suite as well as several Pain Suites
  • 32 PACU beds
  • Robust Robotics Program
  • Approximately 95 FTEs

The department supports nearly every surgical specialty, from general and colorectal surgery to robotic-assisted urological, gynecological, cardiac, and general procedures. A cardiovascular hybrid suite combines cath lab and cardiac surgery capabilities in one space. A neurological suite offers 3D image-guided navigation for spine and cranial cases.

A Strong Clinical Platform

This hospital has built a reputation for surgical excellence and holds an "A" safety rating throughout the facility. It carries Joint Commission Gold Star accreditation across multiple perioperative service lines, along with Chest Pain Center, Bariatric, Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and Primary Stroke Center recognitions.

The surgical program continues to expand alongside a broader network that includes ambulatory surgery centers and a multi-specialty medical group with more than 100 employed providers.

Why This Role

The Director will shape strategy, staffing, and quality outcomes across a service line built for growth, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to keep the program moving forward.

Ideal Background

We are looking for a perioperative leader who brings:

  • Current RN license
  • Bachelor's degree required;
    Master's preferred
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in perioperative or surgical services within a similar sized OR
  • CNOR, CPAN, or equivalent surgical services certification preferred
  • A track record of building strong physician and interdisciplinary relationships
Compensation & Benefits

The organization offers competitive compensation along with:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous PTO and Extended Illness Bank
  • Career development and leadership training
  • Employee recognition and discount programs
Why the Location

The Southwest offers a strong quality of life alongside career opportunity. The area is known for:

  • Year-round sunshine and a warm, dry climate
  • Access to the Sonoran Desert and nearby mountain ranges for hiking and outdoor recreation
  • A respected university presence and growing cultural scene
  • A cost of living that remains attractive relative to many Western markets
