Baker and Packager Associate

Position Summary

Sam's Club #4830, 1459 N Dysart Rd, Avondale, AZ . Our Bakery/Packager associates prepare fresh baked items daily for members, following recipes and wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise. You will juggle several tasks in a short amount of time while helping members with bakery orders. The team is rewarding and works toward a common goal: happy, satisfied members.

• Be a Team Member: Collaborate with other associates to build a strong bakery team; communicate with the team members and be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
• Be an Expert: Prepare bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment; follow recipes and make‑up instructions; wrap, label, and store merchandise; ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
• Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
• Be an Owner: Commit to operational excellence, maintain work area according to company policies; ensure quality and date‑control standards for bakery items; secure fragile and high‑shrink merchandise; eliminate waste; assist members with purchasing decisions; ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience; model high quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
