Back up Receiver

Having this position is very important to the company. The Backup Receiver is responsible for all functions and paperwork related to receiving, including operating machinery such as baler, compactor, and forklift safely and properly. The role maximizes sales potential through effective receiving procedures, maintains the cleanliness of the receiving area, and reports any discrepancies to Managers and Buyers to rectify problems such as damages or shortages.

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED
• Be dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes (weekends and holidays)
• Report any receiving discrepancies to Managers and Buyers, examine contents and compare with records, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
• Attend all applicable trainings and be able to use or be certified in the appropriate equipment; comply with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
• Work independently while maintaining excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, store leadership, and service vendors
• Be willing to lift and move product weighing up to 60 lbs. and 5” to 56”, transporting up to 30 feet; use a pallet jack to transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs. over distances up to 150 feet
• Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product
• Perform simple math operations; multitask; understand proper retail receiving; basic computer knowledge
• Execute other duties as needed
