Job Description
Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in vehicles and equipment. Performs routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Collaborates with customers and team members to provide quality service and support.
Essential Functions- Repair and maintain mobile equipment.
- Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment operating throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
- Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot errors. Perform repairs when necessary.
- Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
- Document and record information accurately daily and monthly.
- Enter and maintain service reports for all mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
- Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant to ensure production efficiency.
- Assist mechanics in vehicle repair and change tires when necessary.
- Communication:
Ability to convey information clearly and adapt messages to the audience. - Safety Awareness:
Recognize and adhere to safety protocols, proactively identify hazards. - Attention to Detail:
Thorough and accurate completion of tasks. - Collaboration:
Work effectively in teams, share ideas, solve problems collectively. - Technical Expertise:
Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, basic maintenance checks, troubleshooting minor issues. - Problem Solving:
Identify, analyze, and resolve work-related issues efficiently.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent training and work experience.
- Three (3) years experience driving commercially licensed vehicles (preferred).
- Three (3) years experience driving ready mix concrete trucks (preferred).
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
- Understand oral and written instructions relating to products and vehicles.
- Excellent driving skills with satisfactory customer and public relations experience.
- Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
- Mechanical skills.
- Apply knowledge and experience effectively in situations.
- Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as required.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
- Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Travel overnight as business demands.
- Active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
