Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations Supervisor
Outer space is a new type of Ops Center. We come from the brand side and have built and led operations for companies like Steve Madden, Prada and Nice Laundry. We leverage the latest technology to support our high growth brands and their daily operations. Outer space provides a number of services including, but not limited to, warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, and product photography.
Reports to:Senior Operations Manager / Operations Manager Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee and manage replenishment activities to ensure pick locations maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Perform pick location stock validation to ensure inventory accuracy and product availability.
- Manage slotting optimization to maximize warehouse efficiency and improve travel paths.
- Coordinate pick consolidation and reserve consolidation activities to improve operational flow and space utilization.
- Lead and support 5S implementation initiatives throughout warehouse operations.
- Monitor warehouse organization and storage utilization to improve operational productivity.
- Support inbound and outbound operations through warehouse process optimization.
- Collaborate with Operations, Inventory Control, and Customer Service teams to support daily workflow execution.
- Develop, manage, and execute the Cycle Count Program to maintain high inventory accuracy levels.
- Supervise cycle counting activities, including empty location validations.
- Coordinate and execute Wall-to-Wall Inventory activities as required.
- Manage damage control processes and ensure proper disposition of damaged inventory.
- Perform system reconciliations between physical inventory and WMS/system records.
- Review and approve inventory adjustments while maintaining inventory adjustment control procedures.
- Generate and analyze daily inventory and operational reports.
- Monitor product aging, including lot-controlled inventory and expiration-sensitive products.
- Monitor SQF measurements and inventory compliance standards.
- Validate warehouse space utilization and inbound capacity availability.
- Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and process flow documentation.
- Track and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, replenishment efficiency, location utilization, productivity, and operational compliance.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, safety procedures, and inventory control standards.
- Conduct audits and validations to maintain system and physical inventory accuracy.
- Support peak season planning, operational scaling, and cross-functional projects.
- Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and compliant with OSHA and warehouse safety standards.
- Conduct daily safety observations and promote safe work practices.
- Support warehouse housekeeping and 5S standards across all operational areas.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse associates, leads, supervisors, and management teams.
- Train, coach, and mentor associates on inventory processes and warehouse procedures.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
- Support conflict resolution and escalate operational or personnel concerns when needed.
- Lead team meetings, performance discussions, and operational updates.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of warehouse or fulfillment center experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, handheld android devices.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Proficient with technology and software, such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack.
- Bilingual (English, Spanish), strongly preferred.
