Mechanic​/Fitter

CNC Recruitment are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a growing, family-run business operating across three sites in Cullompton, Axminster, and Blandford. This is a varied role involving both workshop‑based repairs and on‑site customer call‑outs across the South West. Flexibility is essential, as the company is moving towards a 24‑hour operation and may require evening call‑outs where necessary.

Technicians will work as part of a team within the workshop and independently when attending customer sites (following an initial supported training period). Travel between sites and customer locations will be required using a company van.

Location:

Cullompton, Axminster & Blandford (travel across the South West required)

Hours:

42.5 hours per week (30‑minute unpaid break)

Shifts:

Flexible – Weekday, Weekend & Night shifts available

Pay Rate:
From £14 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and have a good sense of humour to fit within a family‑run business culture. You should be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on vans
• Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical repairs
• Attending customer sites to complete on‑site repairs
• Working collaboratively within the workshop team
• Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanics (or currently working towards)
• Proven experience repairing vans
• Full UK driving licence (as clean as possible)
• EV training – desirable
• Right to Work in the UK
• Good level of spoken and written English
