As a CNC Operator at Vulcan Forms in Devens, MA, you will operate CNC lathe and/or mill machines to support manufacturing based on skillset and shop demand. Vulcan Forms Inc. operates in an environmentally controlled, state‑of‑the‑art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices.
Please note that the CNC Machinist position is shift based – Weekday Day Shift (Standard – Mon‑Wed & Every other Thursday).
Key Responsibilities- Operate a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading manufacturing drawings, and first‑article inspection) on FANUC, DMG MORI, Okuma, and other controls.
- Operate a CNC 3‑ or 4‑axis mill (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading manufacturing drawings, and first‑article inspection) on Fanuc, DMG MORI, and Okuma.
- Utilize a pre‑setter offline for tool offsets (a plus).
- Use quick‑change tooling (a plus).
- Set up and operate machines within the department.
- Inspect parts during production to monitor consistent dimensional and visual quality.
- Continuously monitor equipment and tooling, and respond to breakdowns or other events that would disrupt the process.
- Follow instructions on process sheets, drawings, and/or programs.
- Support training of more junior team members on all aspects of machining.
- Help others identify issues and troubleshoot their work.
- Interface and communicate with Quality, Engineering, and other team members.
- Maintain the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- 4+ years of experience with 3‑ and 4‑axis CNC milling centers, 2‑axis and multi‑axis live‑tooling lathes, and the controls listed above.
- Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Adhere to and enforce the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce the company’s quality policies and procedures.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Graduate of an advanced machine technology course.
- Knowledge of 5S/6S.

Hourly pay range for this position is:
- Level II $24–$33/hour
- Level III $28‑$38/hour
