Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Vehicle Inspector to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting vehicles transported on rail cars and vehicles located on the ground at rail facilities.

The Vehicle Inspector will identify, evaluate, and classify vehicle damage while accurately recording inspection results using a handheld scanning device. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, observant, reliable, and comfortable working in an active rail facility environment.

Position Responsibilities Conduct detailed inspections of vehicles on rail cars and on the ground.

Identify, evaluate, and classify vehicle damage accurately and consistently.

Record inspection results using a handheld scanning device.

Maintain accurate and timely inspection records.

Interact and communicate professionally with customers on a daily basis.

Perform ongoing process reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.

Identify and report day-to-day operational quality issues.

Communicate potential process improvements to appropriate team members.

Follow all company, customer, safety, and operational procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule This is a part-time position working four days per week:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Essential

Skills and Experience:

Education Prefer High School Diploma or GED.Training Training will be provided on the job.

Skills Basic computer skills using Windows based Word and Excel.

ExperienceN/ANonessential Skills and Experience Strong attention to detail and ability to identify vehicle damage.

Ability to accurately document inspection findings.

Comfortable using handheld electronic scanning devices and technology.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Ability to safely work around rail cars, vehicles, and active rail-facility operations.

Previous experience in vehicle inspection, automotive, transportation, rail, or quality-control environments is a plus, but not required.

Physical demands and work environment:

The physical and mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

On the job the employee must:

Have natural or corrected eyesight capable of conducting inspections in varying levels of light.

Have normal range of hearing, or corrected hearing, to be able to respond to normal workplace sounds including approaching vehicles.
