Permanent, Full Time, 39 hours per week - Monday-Sunday
We are seeking a dedicated Escort / Fabric Operative to join our team at HMP Grendon Springhill. HMP Grendon is a Category B training prison, while HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison, and they are jointly managed and maintained by the same facilities team. Responsibilities- Work as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team supporting the safe operation of HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill.
- Collaborate with colleagues in trades such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators to maintain building fabric and Hard FM environments.
- Apply safety and security practices appropriate to a custodial environment.
- Utilise hand and power tools in the execution of maintenance tasks as required.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
- Experience of prison environment (preferred).
- Experience of use of hand and power tools.
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment.
- Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
