Contract:

Permanent, Full Time, 39 hours per week - Monday-Sunday

We are seeking a dedicated Escort / Fabric Operative to join our team at HMP Grendon Springhill. HMP Grendon is a Category B training prison, while HMP Springhill is a Category D open prison, and they are jointly managed and maintained by the same facilities team. • Work as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team supporting the safe operation of HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill.
• Collaborate with colleagues in trades such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators to maintain building fabric and Hard FM environments.
• Apply safety and security practices appropriate to a custodial environment.
• Utilise hand and power tools in the execution of maintenance tasks as required.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.

• Experience of prison environment (preferred).
• Experience of use of hand and power tools.
• Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment.
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
