Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
Perrys Motor Sales Ltd is an award-winning national dealer group, established in 1908, representing major automotive brands across the UK.
As part of the continued expansion of our busy Smart Repair Department
, we are looking for Mobile Smart Repair Technicians to join our established and growing teams in Southeast England and Lancashire.

The RoleAs a Mobile Smart Repair Technician
, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality SMART repairs on customer and stock vehicles across our dealership network.
Working from a fully equipped mobile repair vehicle, you will travel between Perrys dealerships and customer locations, providing a professional and efficient repair service.
Your work will include:
- Paintwork and cosmetic repairs
- Minor bodywork and bumper repairs
- Scratches, scuffs and chips
- Alloy wheel and trim repairs
- Minor dent and cosmetic damage repairs
- Plastic and trim repairs
- Other SMART repair techniques as required
You will be able to assess damage accurately, select the appropriate repair method, use specialist tools and materials, and complete repairs efficiently while achieving a consistently high-quality finish.
You will also build strong working relationships with our dealerships, service departments and customers, providing a professional service and representing the Perrys brand at all times.
As a mobile technician, you will be responsible for maintaining your mobile vehicle, tools and equipment and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with Perrys' quality, health and safety standards.
About YouWe are looking for an experienced and motivated SMART Repair Technician who takes pride in their work and is confident working independently.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in SMART repair, body repair, paint or a related automotive repair environment
- Strong technical skills and the ability to accurately assess and repair minor cosmetic damage
- Experience using SMART repair tools, equipment and materials
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a high-quality finish
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A professional approach when dealing with customers and dealership teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements
- A full, valid UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Formal qualifications or recognised training in vehicle body repair, refinishing or SMART repair would be advantageous.
